This film is loaded with stars (Harry James, the Andrews Sisters, Donald O'Connor, Peggy Ryan, even Huntz Hall!) It follows some lucky recruits as they go through a basic training that consists mostly of attending USO dances headlined by the Andrews Sisters and the hot trumpet of bandleader Harry James. There's also some fancy footwork from "The Jivin' Jack & Jills." Drill Sergeant Shemp Howard tries hard to convince the boys to take the war seriously, but new recruit Dick Foran is much too busy wooing the Colonel's daughter (Jennifer Holt). The film concludes with a rousing montage of war mobilization footage as the Andrews Sisters sing "We've Got a Job to Do." Other songs include "Six Jerks in a Jeep," "Tell It to the Marines," and "You're in the Army Now."
