On October 16th, 1995, Minister Louis Farrakahn, supported by African-American leaders nationwide, implemented a national day of atonement for African American men to come together to end Black male bashing and genocidal conditions existing in Black communities nationwide. They also gathered to atone before God. The result was the creation of one of the greatest phenomenon to happen in the late 21st century, the Million Man March. The day more than 1 million male descendants of African slaves came together and rediscovered their love for each other and proclaimed their right to live equal and free.
