The Godmother is a documentary chronicling the life of Rain Storm a.k.a. Fred Gorski – and his cross dressing salon Fairplay. Set in suburban Staten Island, the film follows Rain as he recounts the story of his amazing 60-plus year journey as a hairstylist, drag queen, business owner, pagan priest and survivor. In his 22-room Victorian house turned salon, he caters to his mostly closeted clientele acting as hairstylist, make-up artist, coach and confidant. “The Godmother” interweaves Rain’s story and those of his clients allowing us a rare glimpse into this underground scene.
