The young boy Rasmus feels alone when he's in school, when he's at home and when he spends time with his dad. Rasmus' mom is mentally ill and his dad spends all his time and energy on her, forgetting about his son. In school, Rasmus used to have friends, but his mom's illness forces him to back out of the social life and friends have become enemies. Fortunately, Rasmus finds a friend in Martin who has OCD and therefore knows how it is to deal with metal illness. The two boys meet in the attic to watch Rasmus' mom going to group therapy sessions from a shaft in the ceiling. Hearing his mom telling about her obsessions is too much for Rasmus and it upsets him not being able to help her. When he one day brings Martin home and can't find his mom anywhere in the house, his imagination drives him to think the worst and he hallucinates his mom hanging from the ceiling. The shock of his hallucinations overwhelms Rasmus and he finally lets everything out telling Martin that he feels abandoned by his family. As he lets his heart out the camera pans to his mom who is sitting right by Rasmus in a tiny basement hearing every word. The shock of his hallucinations overwhelms Rasmus and he finally lets everything out telling Martin that he feels abandoned by his family.
