From Barack Obama to abortion, some white males address issues important to them and to Americans in general. What makes these men angry and what do they really think about the waning of white male influence in the U.S.A.? At the conclusion, an African-American female offers her take on white men. Highlighted by newsreel footage, the film is a skillful examination of a passing way of life.

WINDOW ON A WORLD was shot in late August 2008 at Greensburg Hempfield Area Public Library, Greensburg PA. I originally intended to feature six people in the interview segments-three liberals and three conservatives. But as the shooting date neared two of the people completely vanished, and another had to cancel the day of his interview because of an emergency involving his daughter. Such is the lot of the low budget filmmaker. We still wound up with a pretty good mix of ideas. A Panasonic DVX 100 was the primary camera, while two other mini DV camcorders were also utilized. Lighting was provided by box light kits and umbrella lights. Sound was recorded by both shot gun microphone and a lavaliere mic. The lavaliere gave us a bit of trouble along the way. The field mixer was also a pain.
WINDOW ON A WORLD presents a group of people, all of whom I admire in one way or another. It deals with the passing of an era and the dawn of a new one, as all varieties of people are invited to share in our democracy.
When I saw the length of this documentary, I was sceptical that it would maintain my interst, but it did so and very well. The mix of responses to important issues and the addition of stock footage clips kept the film balanced and interesting. The responses of those in the film definitely can provoke responses of your own, depending on the side of politics with which you identify.
Window on a World clearly depicts the passionate views held by white males of different political ideologies, and some of the conradictions their beliefs sometimes lead to. This well-made documentary may raise questions in one's own beliefs or may challenge one to consider opposing points of views.
We watched this movie and we thought it was very intriguing. What a fascinating look inside the minds of American males today. It made me question my own ideological beliefs. We are looking forward to the filmmakers next movie.
I implore everyone to check out Window on a World. A very good film, the sources are credible and he brings to light certain documentation. I would love for him to discuss the men's views on Obama after the election.
An in-depth study of some serious issues of the day. Well done in both a creative and coherent way. I believe this filmmaker has talent and look forward to his next project.
