Herb, a butcher, brings spoiled leftovers home just to make ends meet. Herb’s wife wants
a baby. In his never-ending battle to get ahead, Herb, a compulsive gambler, hits the dog-
fights, but forever stands on the wrong side of the wager. With a staggering mob debt and
a wife insisting on a family, Herb receives more bad news. A child, possibly his, will soon
arrive on his doorstep.
With another mouth to feed, Herb places larger bets and takes larger losses. Collectors
arrive to call in the note and Herb is in way over his head. When pressed, it becomes clear
that the most valuable thing in his life is the anonymous boy. A boy that is worth more for
his organs than he is alive. A boy that no one would miss. Except Herb’s wife.

“Parts” was shot in Dallas, Texas over the July 4th weekend in a single abandoned warehouse where all the sets were created.
The production utilized Texas talent, primarily from the Dallas area, who volunteered their time or worked for nominal fees in an effort to bring this story to the screen.
The cast of Texas based talent has appeared in “Prison Break”, “Barney”, many commercials, and Richard Jackson was recently seen in “No Country for Old Men”.
Shooting in one hundred degree temperatures, no electricity or running water, and in an abandoned warehouse contributed to the director being hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia on the third day of shooting.
The first draft of the script was completed in 2002. After years of saving to make this project a reality, the film was shot in 4 1/2 days. Post-production took one year to complete.
The budget for Parts was one trip to the hospital and two relationships.
This film is the result of a lot of hard work by a cast and crew working for very little or no money. I'm grateful for their effort and contribution. Thank you for taking the time to watch it. I hope you enjoy the story and much as we enjoyed telling it. Feel free to contact me directly with any thoughts or feedback at inquiry@partsthemovie.com
Thank you.
