Neptune Cowboy represents the realization of a dream for a core production group of 7 friends who worked for 5 years to make this film. What they lacked in experience and finance, they made up for in sheer determination, ingenuity and raw talent. Neptune Cowboy was truly a labor of love. In fact, the entire team was multi-talented and each member had to wear many hats. Cross training was key to getting the film made, as was a pioneer spirit. The cast and crew came to proudly think of the project as “movie-making boot camp”. Because the film is about a musician the team was determined the soundtrack be superb. Director Daniel Wolfert explains. "Alex Jacard, Diana Nile and Pete Munday collaborated until we were all satisfied we had achieved this goal. There was a magical day when we watched a test audience react to each scene precisely as we had hoped. Their laughter and tears were precious. We had so many inquiries about a soundtrack CD. That's when we knew our quest was complete."

"Everyone who worked on this film did so because they loved the story and believed in the project. That dedication and passion comes through on the screen because each day we were tackling seemingly insurmountable obstacles and seeing our vision become reality. The smartest thing I did was to recruit talented cast and crew.

We were all cross-trained so we could jump in and fill any position. The Assistant Directors directed some of the best scenes in the movie when I was too tired to go on. Also many of the actors worked crew and our crew played minor characters in the film as well.

The atmosphere on the set was very collaborative. Each person could feel like his or her creative input was shaping and coloring the film. Sometimes the script was thrown away and new scenes were improvised on the spot. I've always enjoyed creative people and have surrounded myself with persons of talent. It seemed to me that I'd be a fool not to tap that creativity when it worked to make a better film.

Neptune Cowboy represents something new and unique in the realm of independent cinema- because it's like nothing you've ever seen before while incorporating timeless and epic themes. I can't say if this film will change anyone's life. All I know for sure is that it changed the life of everyone who worked on it- especially mine."
