Genius depicts three days in the unconventional existence of Alana Gruber, a world famous Opera Soprano that returns to her home town, after a life long absence, to perform in a charity event, sponsored by some of the most influential people in Fort Lauderdale. This young woman, sometimes charming, sometimes obnoxious, has chosen to live her life as if performing on stage, making all events revolving around her, as dramatic, romantic, epic, comic and operatic as Opera itself.
Alana Gruber is frenetically in love with stardom and would be willing to even imagine vivid conversations or to pretend tragedies in order to make her presence unforgettable. But, as the performance develops, we clearly observe that everyone around her, every one of us in a way, we perform our days as if it was Opera as well.

The true spirit of indie films comes from the want to tell stories, from the need of saying things, simple or complicated, in the form of moving pictures. Independency is a lonely privilege reserved to those who dare to voice and stand for their opinions.
