Documentary / Drama / Reality
In June of 2007, Jeremy Slater, a struggling New Jersey filmmaker, handed six home-
movie cameras to his friends and invited them to a strip-tease party at a seedy “by-the-
hour” motel, instructing them to film “everything” two hours previous to and during the party. The documentary is constructed of only the footage that was shot by the attendees and was edited under the sensitive supervision of Producer, Joseph Christiana. FAMOUS unwittingly tells the story of how a seemingly harmless night of off-color fun abruptly takes a turn for the worst. Aside from the avant-garde qualities of the director’s vision, the producer maintains that the film is an important, albeit imminently controversial, artifact of the actual events and provides an incisive insight into our culture’s fetish for fame.
