As the director/cinematographer, I was faced with the unique challenge of recreating the style of the Universal “monster” films of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Utilizing HDV technology (Sony HDV Z1U) and low tech special effects (Halloween lawn ornament for the flying bat; beach ball in bucket of water for opening globe image; etc.), my goal was to create a work that looked and felt like a “lost” work of the period.
