Detective Carmen Lapeen(Claudia Kawar) has a personal vendetta with a reemerged serial killer. Against all suggestion she pursues the killer and is lead into an intricate web of deceit, corrupt cops, hit men, mob bosses and drug rings. A film student (Lou Mifsud) meets with a Hollywood director (Lee Harden) to discuss a script based on the serial killer. When the student knows too much, the teacher realizes he’s in for more than he’s bargained for. Someone isn’t who they pretend to be, or maybe no one is who they pretend to be. A spine tingling surprise ending. Be prepared for anything.

This project was a learning experience for me, as a student. You can learn all there is to know, but until you get out there and do it wrong, over and over again, you really haven’t learned anything.
I played the writer, director, producer, editor, coordinator, actor, special effects technician, set designer, etc., etc. While this was more than a headache, it has helped me to more understand the whole process of how a film comes together, and how it does need to truly be a collaborative art.
I was able to venture into some new territory in postproduction. We did ADR, green screening, and used Photoshop and After Effects intensively. We also combined effects on the set with effects in post, like where Thug#3 gets shot in the head. We used compressed air hits as well as After Effects magic.
When I began writing, I thought to myself, what are some of the cooler things I can integrate into this story to make it hot and give it marketable production value, then worked backwards and asked myself if and how I could do them. What I found was that almost anything was possible with a little ingenuity and finesse.
I did it because I wanted it more than anything else. From school I walked a mile carrying 5 plastic cases: Two Audio mixer setups, three cameras, as well as three tripods. I actually enjoyed the exercise.
The success is due to all the people who got involved and believed we were going to make some magic.
