SOLEDAD IS GONE FOREVER is a spellbinding, visually stunning, psychological drama that explores the long-term psychological impact of political persecution. Based on real accounts, this film presents an intimate portrait of a young immigrant photographer living in San Francisco, Soledad Gonzales, who learns her father’s remains have been found in a mass grave in Chile. Soledad’s recurring visions of chilling childhood images shatter her life, making her discover that these are real memories that have been repressed for twenty years.
Torn by her aunt Delia's advice to forget the past but faced by the implications of her father's death, Soledad must make a crucial decision.
Does she have the courage to pursue the truth and will this realization finally bring peace to her tortured soul?

Director's Statement
I am a raconteur who recreates hyper realities using images, sound, motion and time to inspire a global audience to see the world in a new way.
In 2006, I made an ambitious short film, Soledad Is Gone Forever.
It was inevitable. Ever since I was a child in Peru I have been drawn to the power of story. This one is shaped by, Soledad Gonzalez, a brave woman searching for truth about herself, her family and her country. I wanted to tell the world how political persecution by military regimes in Latin America has caused long-term psychological impact on men, women, and children.
Many times after our screenings, moviegoers have approached me to share their own experiences. This makes moviemaking worthwhile.
Today, after many screenings, awards and industry recognition, I find myself with my partner, Cesar Viana Teague, working towards the feature length version of Soledad Is Gone Forever.
With a script completed and the support we have been receiving so far, I know that we are getting closer to achieve what we set out to do: to share the universality of Soledad Is Gone Forever with the entire globe, crossing generations and cultures.
